While choosing the next song to play for the 7pm Cheer last evening, we previewed “I Have a Dream” by the Swedish “supergroup” ABBA. It could not have been a better choice. I checked Lyric Interpretations.com about the song’s meaning, which is generally about coping. One anonymous individual interpreted the lyrics as beautiful, uplifting and encouraging:
“We’re going to get through this Coronavirus. We have a dream, a song to sing and we will cope. I believe in Angels! We all have a dream and we will cross the stream.”
The lyrics:
I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream
I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream
I have a dream, a song to sing
I printed the lyrics for neighbors to remember the words. Because we all need to dream.
